Disappearing World
A Scientific Adventure Story

Brazil, 15 min, 2005
dir. Peter Jordan

A team of conservation biologists led by Dr Stuart Pimm struggles to protect rare bird habitats in the Amazon and the Atlantic Forest, where there are more threatened species of plants and animals than anywhere else in the world.

Pimm discovers an isolated patch of cloud forest outside Rio de Janeiro where he hopes to find one of the rarest birds on earth, the grey winged cotinga, which has eluded him for the past 10 years. If Pimm's team can manage to protect these special places, there may be hope for biodiversity on earth.

Produced in partnership with Duke Magazine (USA).
