Localfilms is a grassroots production company that partners with international humanitarian organizations to empower communities through film. Filmmaker Peter Jordan provides children and adults with the equipment and knowledge to make their own movies, which have examined from a local perspective issues of gender, education, famine, illness, and community. To date, Localfilms has collaborated with communities in Kenya, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Tanzania, Botswana, and Zimbabwe and screened at conferences in Asia, Europe, and America and in villages throughout Africa. After getting into one too many fights at school, 17-year-old Fatima finds the one place where she can punch as hard as she wants ― the boxing ring.

Fatima overcomes the loss of her mother, who abandoned her in the streets of Mexico as a little girl, and becomes a mentor for other vulnerable girls. Fatima's coach Johnnie shows her that being a fighter is not just about boxing, it's about life.
